Vessel inspired from Japanese tea ceremonies. The object is suited for interior design and is not recommended to be used for serving food.
Raku is a fascinating ancient Japanese technique, used in tea ceremonies. Raku generally refers to a type of low-firing process that was inspired by traditional Japanese raku firing. Western-style raku usually involves removing pottery from the kiln while at bright red heat and placing it into containers with combustible materials.
The process can give a great variety of colors and surface effects.
And yet … to define raku just as a 16th century burning technique is not enough. Experimenting we discover an energetic communication between author and material. So Raku is a technique of state, of the energy you work with, the final piece becoming what you are.
Dimensions 17.5 cm/14 cm/9.5 cm
